Was just considering how desperately wicked and incurable the heart of man can be. As believers its the " loving organ" of our inner being that we love God with. In my own experience I have found it so easy to love " other things" other than the Lord. Is my heart that trustworthy. My heart...made up of my mind, will, emotions of my soul plus my conscience in my spirit.

In the secular world many refer to following their hearts but should this be the way of a believer in Christ who should be walking according to the Spirit.

The heart can be deceived easier than mind. It depends on how you have trained your heart. If you just let it grow wild without thinking of core values, No.

If you have spent years training it to mirror God's values as shown in the Bible, then you can. It takes much training however, no instant breakfast sort of things. The key is the lightbulb moment when you know God will not conform to you and neither will anybody else, so we must conform to God's way of thinking on matters.

The mind and heart combined is equal to the spirit.

When the mind rests in the knowledge of the heart, the will of the self is unobstructed and free.
