In the Authorized (King James) Version of the Bible we read of God questioning Job (Chapter 39:9,10):
‘Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib? Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?’
The unicorn is also mentioned in Deuteronomy 33:17, Numbers 23:22 and 24:8; Psalm 22:21, 29:6 and 92:10; and Isaiah 34:7. Nowhere in these passages is there any suggestion that anything other than a real animal is being described.

The above website tries to explain that the word 'unicorn' may have just been a mistranslation.
It would be so cool if they were real, though!

the Unicorn is right there along with Behemoth and Leviathan in terms of people questioning about these creatures. my thought is that behemoth is a dinosaur and that Leviathan is another dinosaur, one of the sea dinosaurs, which is what people see today known as the Loch Ness Monster or Nessie.
I have done some research on extinct animals, which I have looked at the Unicorn and i found some interesting "facts" whether they are true or not.
The Unicorn was supposedly the first animal to have been named by Adam
there is a Jewish legend that Noah took the Unicorn on the Ark, but later threw the Unicorn off the ark because the unicorn was full of pride. That pride came from the unicorn being the first named animal. Another story talks of him never taking the ark on board, but that would of gone against God's orders of taking every animal on board, so I would have to go along with the first story.
as with the talking snake answer, it was said that before Adam and Eve sinned, animals could talk!! Thus the serpent could talk to Adam and Eve. The curse that the serpent was given is that it will taste the dust of the ground and its mouth will be made mute. Also said that snakes had legs at one time and they were taken away to meet that taste of the dust of the ground. Which if you read about Baalam's donkey speaking to him, which the Lord gave permission to the donkey to speak to Baalam!

In church last Sunday, a passage of scripture was read that mentioned unicorns. This was the first time I had hear of them mentioned in the Bible. I was a little surprised.
If it's in the Bible, it's gospel to me!
"In the Authorized (King James) Version of the Bible we read of God questioning Job (Chapter 39:9,10):
‘Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib? Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?’

Unicorn is a metafor, it is speaking of Jesus. The Unicorn was pure ,white. It was tamed only by a maiden,Mary a virgin,It was captured and killed because of the maiden, born in a flesh body, but lived again. Its the story of Jesus.I use to collect Unicorns and I still have a few.I never owned a black Unicorn because Satan runs parellel with God.He will be born of a woman and will look like he is killed and then come back to life in Revelations. The reason I say Black because white was looked at as pure and with out blemish.Satan will be the opposite.

Okay, I'm not doing much else, so I'll bite.
The King James Bible is the version that mistranslated the Hebrew word "r'em" as unicorn (See Numbers 23:22, for example).
The term is more correctly translated as wild ox, and in some translations, as a rhinoceros.

You have to understand that language has changed alot through the years and the Bible was probably talking about something else. Also, it's been rewritten and translated I don't know how many times and the way one person interprets something another person might think the same thing means something completely different.

when you find a translation using the word unicorn.... I would want to look at a range of opinions on the issue... most likely it is a word used maybe once and the translation not necessarily definite
