Well my own take on the subject is that those substances screw around with blood sugar, and imbalanced blood sugar imbalances other chemicals in the body. But enough about that, because your topic is prohibition, not why people should be educated not to use those substances. It is a tough subject, as prohibition of alcohol has been tried, and failed to produce the results intended - and produced many unintended consequences. Marijuana is already prohibited, in general, and that does not stop its use. Maybe that would be your opening? That prohibition of alcohol has been tried, and failed to stop the consumption, ditto marijuana, but just because it hasn't, doesn't mean that it shouldn't be. And go from there.

Alcohol, its a TOXIN, this the term INTOXICATED or the phrase "to pick pick yout poison".
Alcohol affects more organs thant the brain and lungs like marijuana. Alcohol kills brain cells, damages the liver, can affect the kidneys and of course ruins brain cells. Marijuana actualy has more tar than a cigarette but it doesnt have all the other chemicals that cigs have. It affects the brain cells as well but is a natural substance.

Alcohol causes the most damage to the human body. On the short term, it causes reduced physical coordination, reduced mental alertness, poor decision making, staggering, slurred speech, double vision, mood swings, unconsciousness and on the long term it causes higher risk for heart disease, for liver disease,, circulatory problems, peptic ulcers,
various forms of cancer, and irreversible brain damage.
That's not even mentioning the fact that an OD on alcohol can kill you.
Marijuana isn't healthy for you, but it doesn't cause even a 10% of the damage to your body that alcohol does. It's bad for your lungs, but smoke into your lungs just isn't healthy, no matter what the source.

Alcohol. Alcohol destroys more braincells, and the long-term effects are worse. You can be exposed to methanol, and injuries that you get while intoxicated.
With marijauna, there are other risks, but they are not as physically damaging as alcohol...ironically enough. Unless you get some bacteria on it when you smoke it (as seen on House MD ;))

Alcohol is far more harmful. Think of all the fights people have when drunk. How many stoned people want to fight?
There are terrible effects from drinking such as fetal alcohol syndrom which gives retarded kids as a result of maternal drinking.
The worst that pot does is give you lung cancer from inhaling the smoke. This is bad, but so are cigarettes.

Alcohol is a poison, it is extremely damaging to your body, especially the liver and developmental regions of the brain. Marijuana is not the best for you either, but it is better for you than alcohol.

Alcohol hits your liver and messes up your whole body. THC in marijuana makes you high, but that goes away afterawhile. Id think smoking it is bad, but it could'nt be nearly as worse as ciggaretts with all those additives. i mean if you jsut had marijuana and rolled it up, all you have is the plant in there.

Alcohol is now being suggested in moderation to help fight cardio vascular disease.
MJ may have some medical benefits and abusing both can be harmful.

Alcohol. No question about it. I've been around awhile and seen and experienced the effects of both. Alcohol is worse. Trust me.
