Egyptologists and Archaeologists are not allowed to search the Valley of the Kings during certain time frames. They have to get permission from the government and they are restricted where they dig and they have to report everything they find to the authorities and a whole bunch of other stuff. It sounds insane but can you imagine if they didn't have so many restrictions, thousands of people would be digging holes in the Valley of the Kings looking for tombs and running of with all the gold artifacts. Have you ever seen Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom? In the very beginning of the movie he almost completely destroys the temple trying to get one artifact. If the Turkish government let everyone go up and look for the ark, everyone would be trying to find it and they might destroy it trying to find it.

thats why the Turks do not want Bible Scholars to come and check out Mt. Ararat.
Turkey is an Islamic nation, if they find Noah's Ark it would just show further evidence that the Bible is indeed true(which I believe the Bible to be true, whether they find the Ark or not, but......read below!
Check out Ron Wyatt's website.
Wyatt Archeological Research, there are pictures in their of the REAL Noah's Ark!! and its not on Mt. Ararat.
The Bible says that the ark landed on the mountains of Ararat, its plural meaning many, so most likely it was the foothills. Ron Wyatt is a Christian archeologists, but he passed away in 1999, so his family is still active in researching the Bible and showing that is authentic!
HERE IS THE LINK, check it out, Wyatt uses Bible Scripture as a reference and a guide in finding certain places!

Where did you ever get the idea that they don't allow it.
I think the bible freaks should actually be forced to go and explore Mount Ararat. The more of their ridiculous claims they are forced to prove maybe the fewer of them they will make.
There are NO six thousand year old boats on top of the mountain!
That is why the Bible thumpers refuse to explore it.

I haven't heard that. But I have seen a web site showing an artifact found there which apparently dates from medieval times. Some people think that it is the remains of Noah's ark, but since that story is known to be fiction it must be something else. I think that it is a fortification of some kind.

I don't believe the resistance of the Turkish government is what keeps them from finding Noah's ark there. I think it's because it is simply not there. This kind of stuff (arguing that it's somebody else that prevents us from finding the truth) is why Einstein's and Feynman's don't spend a lot of time on such problems. You just want somebody to blame for your inability to let go of another version of that myth.

Baloney. The entire area around Mt. Ararat is covered with poppy fields used to make heroin. THAT'S why they don't want you there.

lets just say for the sake of argument that a large boat was on top of Mt. Ararat 4,000 years ago.
do you honestly think it would have survived?

I think Mt Arafat is in Mecca--and only Muslims are allowed in Mecca because we make pilmagrage there.
Why wont you allow Muslims to come into your church and teach the Koran? Many people would become Muslims then.
