We don't practice foot washing in my church because we believe that Jesus was using this example to get a point across.

The point being emphasized is that Jesus is a servant King. As an example, we should humble ourselves with a servant's attitude and seek to serve people. To consider the other person more worthy than yourself.

In the Christian religion, most denominations do it in remembrance of the Last Supper when Jesus washed the feet of the disciples. We do it once a year, in holy week, what is call Maundy Thursday.

In other religions, I think the Hindu and Muslims do something, but I am not sure what or why. I have been to both a Mosque and a Temple and the bathroom has some strange place in the floor where you are to wash your feet. But, I don't understand it.

In Christianity, some Episcopal churches have footwashing services on Maundy Thursday. Also some Catholic parishes will do it. The Primitive Baptists do it, and some Pentecostals. Also some Anabaptists and Seventh-Day Adventists.

This is from a Primitive Baptist website:

"Why do Primitive Baptists wash feet during communion?

John explains that, at the end of the Last Supper, the Lord began to wash the feet of the disciples. After performing this great act of humility, the Lord said, If I then, your Lord and master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done unto you (Jn 13:14-15). Primitive Baptists understand that this commandment is to be followed in literal detail as well as in spirit."

Many of the religions of the world mention "washing of the feet".

Hindouism, Christianity and in many Yoga Practices as well.

It is a form of purification. A washing of the sins when performed by the Teacher to the Follower.

And an act of worship when performed by the Follower to the Teacher.

Islam. You've gotta wash your feet before each call to prayer, or some such. They're big on that.
