Although the V6 is as almosty as strong as the V8. There is no substuite for the V8 GT. The sound and the power are there waiting for you to put the foot down.
If you are short on money, then get the V6 and look cool and it will still move pretty good. Plus you will save on insurance and gas. Go with what you can afford.
If you can afford the V8 GT, then get it. I loved the one that we had. good luck

Technically a V6 can be faster in a light car like a Mustang. Because a V8 is heavier. But a straight six is screaming compared to a V block off the line because the stroke is longer. A Big block V8 will eventually overtake anything at about 60+ because it can sustain better tork at higher speeds. That's Overdrive. that's why HEMI big block was so superior. because of the rpm tork ratios in big and small engines it depends on if you do street or highway driving the most.
PS. A V8 will probably Lay a few feet more of rubber than a V6 a Strait six will lay rubber all the way down the block - like the slant six and the Hemi designed for the race track by Mopar

If you like to burn your tires and have that good old american V8 sound you will want a V8, but if you like gas mileage with gas approching $4.00 a gal. you will be happier with a V6.
