God intends for us to experience life together. The Bible calls this shared experience fellowship. Today, however, the word has lost most of it's biblical meaning. " Fellowship
' now usually refers to casual conversation, socializing, food, and fun. The question, " where do you fellowship?" means "Where do you attend church?" "Stay after for fellowship " usually means " Wait for refreshments."
Real fellowship is so much more than just showing up at services. It is experiencing life together. It includes unselfish living, honest sharing, practical serving, sacrificial giving, sympathetic comforting, and all the other "one another" commands found in the New Testament.

Share each other's troubles and problems, and in this way obey the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2
Love ~!~ Peace

Yes, It seems that TV has been invented that Christian fellowship has been lost. Some churches though now days have christian fellowship, But I think for the most part it definatly has been lost. Our Church has Christian fellowship after church and refreshments every single week.

But there are also other times during the month that we have like Bible studies that include fellowship not much but yes fellowship included with that. I just with they would include a night of like games and fellowship. Some people don't just like to talk unless they are doing something, Some people like to play board games and talk.

That is a very good point. In one church I attended people did seem to fellowship in this way. one someone was having trouble the church members would rally around them and support them.
People lived their lives almost in community together and it was a wonderful experience. I miss that church and all the "family' there.

Newsflash. The word 'fellowship' originated in England in the 12th century and meant 'the company of one's fellows'. The 'biblical meaning' came AFTERWORDS. So you might as well ask 'Has the word fellowship lost it's social meaning since being adopted by Christianity?'

I find it hard to fellowship with those who quote the letters of Paul too much. Watch out for your learning. Learn beyond fundamentalism.

Well said. It is about the family feeling and partnership between Christians like sharing, participation, and close relationships. It helps Christians grow and encourages us to share the work of the Church.

But I think we can still have a little fun too.
