Are brothers and sisters close as adults normally?

I used to send my brother and his family gifts for Christmas. However, I never received anything in return.

Now, he and I have had a misunderstanding. He told me something that I did not like and I hung up on him . I sent a note apologizing to him and he did not respond.

Now my parents are overseas for a 1 1/2 weeks. I live with them currently. He does not even call to see how I am doing.

He thinks that I am bipolar, but I am not. He is on meds for it and thinks that its hereditary. I don't believe it and am seeing a Counselor who says that I am not bipolar.

Do brother/ sisters normally stay close? His wife is close to her family. My brother is 6 years younger than me though.

It is all across the board. Some siblings are close and speak every day; other siblings don't even speak.

My brother and I are kind of odd that way; we live in different states and very differnt lives. We speak about once every 6-8 weeks on the phone, and only see each other once every couple of years. (we are in our 50s). Yet at the same time, we are emotionally connected and there are not ill feelings of any sort.

I have long said that siblings are the ONLY people we go through our entire lives with.

of course, thats why they call it family right? Unless of course the close your meaning is sexual than no its wrong. But from what it sounds like you have a great bond with your family thats awesome and normal enjoy it.
