Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron claim that the way the banana is made (very phallic symbol to me) proves the existence of God.

If the banana is proof that God exists, then I think we're in trouble, considering I was hungry, and just ate a banana. Did I just destroy the only evidence of His existence?

Is it true that God pelts us with coconuts should we eat bananas? (Were bananas perhaps the forbidden fruit?)

Just because one guy thinks that the banana is proof of the existence of God does not imply that all theists think that the banana is proof of the existence of God.

The legend goes that God became very angry at a man called Iddelea and threw down a fruit from his table. When the fruit hit the man and craked the people surrounded and drank the milk. They were happy to be rid of the bully that terrorized their village and rejoiced and praised God's name. They called teh mystical fruit the co-co-nut whicj means "projectile of God". From then on the coconut was a sacred and delectable fruit until it was known that it could destroy your stomach walls. From then on it became hated. The only ones that like it now are Satanist and people who think my story is made up. *pickes up coconut and drinks milk* Yum

Actually God is said to impart the idea to man constantly that there is a God.

Also, "This only One and very Self is omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent. This also every Christian acknowledges from his doctrine and every gentile from his religion. In consequence, wherever he is, a man thinks that God is there and that he prays to God at hand; thinking and praying so, men cannot but think that God is everywhere, that is, omnipresent [in all places at all times]; likewise omniscient [all knowing] and omnipotent [all powerful]. Everyone praying to God, therefore, implores Him from the heart to lead him because He can lead him; thus he acknowledges the divine omnipresence, omniscience and omnipotence, doing so in turning his face to the Lord; thereupon the truth flows in from the Lord" (Divine Providence n. 157).

Ah, yes, the argumentum ad bananum. Destined to become a classic, you betcha.

As for the origin of the coconut, I'm thinking All-Deity Beach Volleyball Tournaments.

But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Well, the banana was the product of design -- by humans, through generations of cultivation.

It's sort of like saying that seedless grapes prove the existence of God, because He made it so that we wouldn't have to spit out seeds.

It was a test of endurance -- it takes more physical effort to get to the good part of a coconut than it does a banana.

The coconut fits perfectly in the hand, peels easily and fits easily into the mouth...not. My first girlfriend had a cousin who lived in Fiji and he died collecting coconuts.

What about melons? the old saying goes...
a girl for duty,
a boy for pleasure
and melons for ecstasy
Proof of the existence of God is it?
