How are you going to discuss something intelligently when you know nothing about what you are discussing? Or is that not a prerequisite for you?

Atheists will be more stupid to say that the Bible is a work of fiction if they have never read it. They have been looking for word that may convince them otherwise but since their objective is to prove what it is, they have to go over and read it. Sorry they did not find anything to say it is true and that is it.
Unlike most Christians who says so many things about the Bible and yet could only talk all the time what had been the most common and popular among things to discuss but has no complete proof to say that the Bible is true.
I do not really know who is the most stupid at this time and a time waster.

I think that is a bit narrow minded. Some Athiests read it through necessity of religious instruction, school or family obligation. Some have read it to find out what all the hub-bub is about. Some have read it in an effort to counteract the agressiveness of would be converters.
I will also say, that many, many people read fiction all the time. There are great stories everywhere you look - that doesn't mean they are true or any less enjoyable as a story. The bible has also inspired many other books and movies, so having an understanding of the bible can help you understand other things too.
Peace!
PS - and may I add that I am sure the elders in the christian church are happy to have anyone read it for any reason - so sure are they that god's word will benefit, right?

So the Bible only has a hundred pages? So whenever an atheist reads anything he's "scientifically examining" it? So only non fiction books are worth reading in your opinion? So you apparently equate the Bible with Harry Potter? Best of all - so reading the Bible is "stupid" for atheists?
LOL.

i wish he wrote the paper properly because of the fact it merits an A+. Now there's a new child along with his head on appropriate. Why might the instructor no be o.ok. with it? that's sparkling that the Bible is a artwork of fiction from the 1st actual line "interior the initiating God created each and every of the heavens and the earth". It purely gets greater fanciful after that. Wow, how might desire to it no longer be fiction? Seven headed bests, a boat super sufficient to hold 2 of each and every animal, people making wine from water, strolling on water...etc, etc. those are purely an truly small occasion of the ludicrous anecdotes in the process the excellent tale. Edit: Lion of Judus. You look to have exceeded over any verses that condone morbid violence, horror, incest, muder, genocide, beastiality or the different human rights abuses or atrocities that exist during what's refered to as 'the forged e book'. How handy.

well maybe i wasn't an atheist since i was born and maybe i was a christian
and unfortunately i have a nasty habit of thinking for myself so i naturally looked at Christianity up close so after i read the bible i looked at Islam and then Hinduism so i guess I'm just ignorant for actually trying to understand your religion as well a lot others
oh and last time i check people read fictional books more then historical books so you're 2000 year old comic book is just literature that some delusional people consider true

Ever heard of education? Yes? Good. See, Atheists don't have limits on education like Christians do. Many Christians will blatantly refuse to learn anything that doesn't agree with their religion because it might refute anything they believe about their god.
While, to an Atheist, the whole of the world is an open book to learn from.
You might like to take a page from the Atheists book and stop reading your fairy tales for a while. There's a wide open world out there that Christians are ignoring out of fear.
You'll find that when you dismiss the fairy tales, there's alot more to learn.

The bible is a fascinating book, and millions upon millions of people believe that it actually has something to do with a supreme being. Nations have gone to war over it, people have been tortured to death over it, politicians have used it in various ways for their own ends, and this has been going on for quite some time. You don't think this makes it worth reading DESPITE the fact that we consider it to be merely badly-written mythology? Are you on drugs? EVERY thinking person should read the bible, if for no other reason than to understand what the credulous are babbling about when they try to affect our society with it.

Its nice to read...it makes you think...
I know that you folk don't read...and I believe whole-heartedly that if YOU had actually read the bible, you would no longer be a Christian too. It was reading the Bible, after all, that made me into an Atheist...

Regardless of whether or not you believe the bible is fiction or non fiction you have to admit the stories are very interesting.
If you are an Athiest and want to prove your case to someone who is a Christian and reads the bible and uses the bible to prove their points then it would be very useful for an Athiest to read the bible.
