Maybe have people read a little Green Eggs and Ham and the give the a short quiz to check for reading ability and comprehension. The have to make at least 75% to get a handle on here.
Yes I am saying I thinking some people could not pass a comprehension test on Dr Suess....its either tha or people dont read the question at all.
What do ya think?

A fair point - many answers are NOT actually relevant to the question - because the reader has not bothered to read the whole question.
So in that respect, yes, reading is important.
However I have seen questions with DOZENS of lines, with dreadful spelling, little or no punctuation, appalling grammar and NO line breaks.
Why would ANYONE want to put themselves through the agonies of reading something so ghastly?
Arguably, the check spelling feature should be triggered automatically - so that you cannot even post the question until it has been checked.
I tend to spend about as much time answering a question as I reckon the question has earned.

Most like short Q's, so they only read a small part. There are a few Q's that I don't understand. I think most read the general Q, and not get to the meat of it.

Your grammar isn't so hot itself. I would suggest you gain a stronger grasp on the language before explaining it to others. You may not pass such a test from what I'm seeing.

No, reading shouldn't be a prerequisite to YA/RS. People are able to decide for themselves how they wish to phrase things (there are many who speak limited English and should not be faulted for it) as well as whether or not they wish to correct their mistakes when they realize they've made them.

confident, I even have study the bible from cover to cover. extra advantageous than as quickly as. that doesn't make one a christian. I doubt that your definition of christian and my definition of christian are a similar. And who's to assert that's the extra appropriate definition? i've got self assurance that my interpretation is extra tolerant and loving of each and every person than is your interpretation. With super self assurance i visit stay with mine. Is it life like or clever to profess allegiance to a minimum of something once you will not be able to even verify what it quite is you're agreeing with? No that is not. it quite is one reason I have not any faith in our US president, vice chairman, congressmen or senators. they openly admit they don't study the stuff they bypass into regulation.

It should be a requirement to click the "Check Spelling" button and make corrections before your question or answer is even posted.
There needs to be a grammar button, too.
