I am trying to install iTunes on Vista and i can only get so far untill a message saying "the system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation.". I am the administrator, its my computer what should i do?

right click the setup.exe, click on run as administrator

Yep right clip on setup icon, click run as admin.... then click yes you are sure, then click yes i hate bill gates , then click oh bugger itunes does not work with vista but then again nothing does !!.... :( then click uninstall o/s and stick in you old xp cd and live a happy carefree life with out the hassle of vista

It should allow you to "promote" to the administrator and then continue. (This is a Vista Feature -- dont you like it?) I know seems odd to all of us..part of the new updated security in Vista.

uninstall Vista....throw everything Vista related into the bin and go back to XP.

start/control panel/user accounts

make sure your account has administrator previledges
