I had a long distance relationship with my girlfriend for almost two years. Its not easy by any means, but its doable. You have to stay positive and take what others have to say with a grain of salt. If you really want it to work, make it work.

My best advice would be to stay in contact as much as possible. Its during long periods of separation that things can happen. If you don't call, there can be suspicion between the both of you that someone is cheating. Always keep talking, call, e-mail, chat or what ever it takes.

The best thing would be to arrange short trips and vacations together; this way you both have something to look forward to the next time you see each other. Make sure the little time you spend together is well worth the effort, make it special.

Good luck.

I am in the same situation, I am in the UK and my partner lives in America aswell. If you've never actually met then you must make this a priority! Flights are not too expensive if you book far enough in advance. You can NEVER predict if you have that all important chemistry or not without physically meeting each other, no matter how attractive the person is inside and out. L.D.R's are very hard to make work. Especially at this distance, and especially for extended periods. To make it work it needs to be at the top of your list. You need to make time for your beloved. It doesn't take a minute to drop an email. There is really no excuse! Send him letters and presents. Let him know you care. Simple! My girlfriend and I both have BlackBerry phones so we can talk all day, every day. Can you both make the time to use Skype? FREE voice/video calls over the internet. If you want to get something out of this you have to put something in. Good luck!

Well It usually does not work. I have had a few myself that I had strong feelings for but I needed more and so did they.
My current relationship was long distance for about 3 months until he told me he would end up cheating on me and I was starting to feel the same way. We really connected so he asked me to move to MD from NJ and I did it. We have been together 3 years now and everything is coolio. So the truth is you ll never know what will happen till you try :)
Good Luck

It is very difficult. A lot of emails and phone calls help to keep you close. Most long distance relationships don't last a year. Good Luck. I hope yours does.

Long distance relationships are usually a bad idea. Hard to understand that now if you are smitten. Suggest you both see other people at this point.

there needs to be alot of sacrifices, most long distance relationships don't work out. If your really in love you should consider moving to be with them.

Regular contact either through phone or mail. Tell him what you feel about him and try to know how he feel without you being there with him, at the end tell him how you love him. Make this daily routine and your relationship will be intact.

1st- don't answer her calls
2nd- avoid talking to her, when she talks just say yeah or no
3rd- Don't even talk to her! Text Message her that you want to break up with her!
Those are the steps of breaking up..... Why do you want to do this anyway? You might think that she's a pain in the neck, but someday, you'll realize that it feels kinda lonely without her by your side.

You Don't.
Long distance relations are very very tough.
you yearn for that person, but you can't touch them.
you can call them on the phone but you can't see them you can text them but you can't see the expressions on they're faces when they open the messages. if its mutual it might just work for a while until wishing to hold that person becomes unbearable.
