You might read about Jude Law and think you know and love him as a lot of fans do...

I agree with you. How can people love someone they never knew. People say if you read the bible you can get to know him. So if I read an autobiography or biography of someone, then I can get to know them and love them? It's all too confusing for me.

Your question rests on a few presuppositions that most Christians do not share.
You seem to presume that Jesus didn't really rise from the dead, that he is not currently alive and that John's gospel is wrong in it's repeated accounts of Jesus saying he will be present with disciples in the future through his Spirit... speaking to them, guiding them, comforting them, I could go on...
If those things were true, you'd have to acknowlege that it's highly possible that Christians could actually know Jesus in a different way to the way I feel I know Gandi or LutherKing from reading about them but don't really know them.

In a sense Jesus is more than any of us will grasp but to some extent this is true of any other human being - we make others in our own image.

But in answer to your question - No. I do know Jesus.

scape: You do not love Jesus because you do not know Him.
To know Him entails a relationship with God the Father through Him [spirituality]. That is the "truth". Try it and you will become amazed at how much is out there pertaining to assumption. By the way; I'll warn you - if what people think about you and your relationship with Jesus has changed you (because you no longer run around in life giving in to every sensual urge as they do), this may not be for you.

No, i dont believe so... I mean how do u think u got on this earth? How do u think the bible was created? I know alot of people talk all kinds of non sense when it comes to Jesus and the Bible but in the end all of those people are going to Hell, then they will regret all of the things that they have said... As for your question, I do know Jesus, and He knows me as well... I talk to Him every night in my prayers, and in return He answers my prayers... He helps me through life and we have a great understanding with one another. I'm sorry that u haven't yet experienced this kind of loving relationship with God, but maybe one day u will... Then on that day u will be answering your own question.

All we can know is what we have been taught. Our philosophies and beliefs are ever changing as long as we are alive. We take the input we get and if it is acceptable to what our logic, our hopes, or faith, whatever you wish to call it, it becomes part of what we accept as part of our philosophy. Some are more accepting and some are more questioning. For me, I have never been sure, but I am sure that if Jesus is the Son of God incarnate and lived to teach and died for our sins, I thank God for that gift. To say I don't wonder would be false. One thing is certain to me. God does exist, therefore we exist. God's way, God's time. Therefore, I give thanks every day for the blessings I have been given and ask forgiveness for my wavering faith.

We know Jesus by what we have learned from the Bible, and we have to take God's word for it. Isn't it enough that Jesus gave his life to save humanity?

If Jesus doesn't talk to you I think I know why and that is why He gave us a written Word. You are supposed to learn about Jesus from the Word.

Do you love freedom? Peace? Do you really know what freedom or peace are? I love the idea of freedom, peace & Jesus. It's a positive thing to bring happiness.
