I am 14 and called several places to get a summer job and haven't found one yet. No businesses that I know of hires 14 year olds. I was thinking about babysitting or cleaning houses but my dad said that they are strangers and I shouldn't. I would ask my family but their houses are clean, and if I did babysit for them I wouldn't get that much money because it wouldn't be a daily thing. I was also thinking about walking dogs or something like that because I love animals and my parents would let me do that, but I wouldn't know how to ask peope, and I don't know if anyone even needs their dogs walked. I DON'T want to be a delivery person, a life gaurd, do that thing where you make money on the computer, or anything like that though. I REALLY want a summer job so that I can make money. And I want to make a good pay for a job. Can someone PLEASE help me??? I don't know what to do???

Ask your parents to run an ad in your local newspaper. For babysitting, dog walking, house cleaning etc. Have them put something like, responsible teen looking for summer work. Then, let your parents talk to them when they call so that you will be protected from anyone who might not be safe. Good luck I hope this helps, Also when I was young I did ironing for people at my house. It's great that there are young people still out there who want to work.

Sorry kid, but generally you're too young to have a legal real job.. Anyone who hires you in a place of business runs the risk of violating the child labor laws, which could send them to jail... So.... your best bet is get mow neighbors lawns, offer to do chores around the house and help them run errands. If your ambitions run higher, you could become a famous child actor or model..... but chances are it won't happen within your time frame.
