Nicene Creed:
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, light from light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary
and became truly human.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father [and the Son],
who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

The word was coined in the NT, after the Resurrection of Yashua, Christ Jesus. It is defined as one who follows the teachings of Yashua.
Today the term tends toward being generic. If one were born into a home where the parents where marginally Christian (saved but not living their beliefs) then that child may claim to be 'christian' as well, however would not be a Christian in the Biblical sense.

Christians do not differ from other men as to habitat,language or custom,they live among Greeks and barbarians, wherever destiny has put them.
There way of life is strange to others, they live in their native land yet are treated as aliens.
They live in the flesh but not according to the flesh,they dwell on earth but regard Heaven as their true city, they love all but they are persecuted.
Christians are pilgrims in a corruptible world while they look forward to Heavenly immortality,God has set them in the world as His sentinels and they may not leave thier posts.

Strict sense:
A Christian is someone who seeks to follow Christ, believing Christ and those Christ sent. He trusts the Scripture, the Church Christ founded (Orthodoxy), and Tradition. Through prayer, good deeds, the sacraments, fasting, and the like, he becomes more and more like Christ in character and nature. If a "believer" is not a member of Christ's Church, he isn't fully Christian. If he doesn't believe, he isn't Christian. If he doesn't live it, he has sacrificed part of his Christianity. If he doesn't partake of the Church's sacraments that Christ ordained, then he doesn't fully follow Christ and is deprived of some of the grace.

short answer - a Christian believe that Jesus Christ is God's son - His holy word in the flesh. A Christian follows,emulates Christ, obeys His teachings. The Christian gives himself/herself to Christ, and asks the Jesus come to live in and through him/her... in this way, we are the feet, hands and heart of Christ.

To be honest...there is no words that I can use personally to describe a christian. I guess to have faith and love for Christ. Other than that...if I go into detail...it will be more than a hundred words!
