Why can't we all just get along. We're all trying to do the same thing, be good people, so why can't we just all get along.
Also, how can we fix this. How can we mend our relationships?

I'm amazed. Even in this topic where I am trying to get other religions to understand one another there is animocity between religions.
Can you just write a little bit about your religion and say what you like and dislike about other religions and how you would like to bridge the rift.

I'm ready to listen about your beliefs/religions/lack thereof.
Just "type" and I'll "read."

I would hope that one day, we can all look past each others race, religions, and beliefs.

I think the only real way to accept each other is to understand each other. I think if everyone took the time to learn about other cultures, religions, and whatnot, we'd be more willing to accept that people will believe what they want to believe.

It'd eliminate the fear of the unknown at least.

To ask this question helps show what the problem is?
If you think about why the Jews hated Jesus who was a Jew, then you will have the answer to the question? People who truly search for the truth are open hearted and minded. They accept correction and discipline and continue to learn in spirit and truth.
Others who want their way to be accepted and who close there hearts and minds to the right thinking are like those apostate Jews who caused Jesus to die. This is why today we have so many different religions, even denominations in the same churches. People who do not want to change as the Jews didn't.
One good example of this is the teaching of the trinity, which is taught in most churches. Another is immortality of the soul also taught in most churches.
Should we all not learn, should we not use the word of God to discipline ourselves? For example Eccl 3:19, Eccl 9:5,10, Ezk 18:4, Acts 5:29, John 20:17, 1 Cor 11:3, Ponder over these thoughts, and ask yourself again why people won't get along?
People do put on a pretense of being good, but if they slam the spiritual door in your face and are not open to any agreement as 2 Tim 3:1-4 states then you will see their true color?

It's religion. That's the cause of rift between so many people. People can work through cultural differences, but they will never be able to see other religions in the same light they see their own. Away with religion and you got a whole branch, of just humanity alone.
I'm not saying this to say I hate religion, but throughout history you can see this is the case. So if you wanna see a change, put away with religion. Humans come first, than religion. Once everybody learns that, you'll see a difference in our world.

Tolerance. All groups and all religions must be tolerant for others. No mater color or religion. Unfortunately this is hard to do. I for one believe that we need to strive for this and slowly we are. If we don't we are going to self destruct. A big problem is religion. Religious right believes that liberals and atheist are trying to take away their rights or their religions. That is not so . We are working that all religions are rep rested or none. A true tolerance is show NO preference for any religion. And for people not to be persecuted for the beliefs. This respect for other religions is a hard hurtle. Many Christians say they do, But is seems to be as long as it doesn't interfere with what they want. What they want is infringing on religious beliefs of other groups. So the atheist/liberals get a little riled and become radical them selves and we got the Islamic side of this all, Yep, we are going to self destruct if we don't learn a little tolerance quick.

We cannot all be friends because many people choose not too, for the most part. I have the same question that goes through my mind everyday, but no matter what you do, nothing changes right? Well, the way I feel is that eventhough we may not want to, we should pray as much as we can for others. There are people that I was not the greatest friends with, in fact I couldn't even stand them. Although, the bible says we should pray for our enemies, not that they should have the greatest treasures of the world, but that they can see the glory of god and that they can witness to others. I did that, and now that one person and I are great friends. Why? Becuase the Lord was watching over me. If only everyone had faith like that....then imagine what the world would be like.
god bless.

I don't need friends. I don't trust anyone. I like people sometimes, I just don't get close to anyone, ever. The kind of people I do like I never meet anyway, because I refuse to step foot in a church.

This really leaves no hope of ever bridging any gaps with atheists, though. They are ignorant, elitist people for whom I reserve my hatred.

I keep finding that a lot of the Christians in this forum aren't interested in learning about other points of view. So many times they tell us what we think and how we're motivated.

It's hard to stay peaceful in those circumstances.

They need to listen more.

I realize this sounds cliched, but some of my best friends are religious. What makes this possible is that we ACCEPT each other's differences along with the similarities. You don't have to agree, but you do have to accept a person's right to believe what they want if you want to get along with them.

basically because alll people are differnt in my opinion the grumpy mean person always seems to ruin it && i think thats exactly why we dont get along because certain personalities dont mix with the others =/

i doubt we can fix it because many people would have to change in order to do that .. unless everyone agrees on something

diffiuclt to be friends with people who use their religious beliefs to try to enforce bigotry and hatred against others. If one is on the recieving end of such behaviour, asking them to befriend their religious persecutors would be like asking black people to befriend the KKK - utterly absurd.
