1. they are like having metal grates on ur teeth.
2. No they dont hurt that much
3.avoid light colors, cuz they make ur teeth look dirty (especially yellow)
4. after, but only if ur in pain, otherwise, u dont have 2.
5.no not really just make sure ur breath smells good
6.neither.....its not that big a deal.
7. changing the wire doesnt hurt at the time. they just unhinged ur rubberbands from the wire, and put in a new one. If it does hurt afterwards it will only last a day or 2.

1. They arent like anything else, they make it hard to hold water the first day- ur mouth is expanded a tad.
2. only for about the first 10 days or so, depending how bad ur teeth are. Also a day or two after they get tightened.
3. Ur fav colors, ur fav teams colors, red & blue (patriotic)
4. I took some pain reliever the first 2-3 days cuz they hurt so bad. Even when ur not eating.
5. Umm u need to brush ur teeth before they get on.
6. Well ur smile looks dorky but ull end up with straight teeth.
7. They change this by taking out the tiny rubber bands- the parts that add color and keep the wire to the bracket- (this hurts) and then taking the wire out and replace with a thicker wire and different rubber bands. It only hurts when they take off or put on the rubber bands.
Hope this helps!

1. what are braces like
they feel weird at first but soon you won't even notice they are there.
2. do they hurt?
at first, yes. it feels like someone is squishing your teeth together. when you get them tightened they are sore for about a day but then they are fine.
3. what colors should i get?
whatever your 2 favorite colors are,
But white turns yellowish >.< so probably not white.
4. do i have to take med. before or after the 1st appointment?
tylenol is good, but you must stay on top of the pain. take it before it starts to ache. or its like a rollar coaster. and I take some usually when I get them tightened.
5.do i have 2 get prepared?
no. brush your teeth silly :D
6. and should i be exited or sad..(11 years old) (and i have like a gap, with most of my teeth crooked a lil. bit)
I was excited! I am 12. I have hated my teeth for a long time. The were un-even. And I can't wait till they come off, one more year!
7. how do they change the wire, and will it hurt when they change out the wire?
no. it doesnt.
The rubberbands keep the wire on. And you can't get the rubberbands off by yourself. they use a tool.
they take off all the rubber bands and slide it out :]
Hope it helps,
And woot!
GOOD TEETH!
:]
goodluck

1. It feels a little strange to have braces at first.
2. They hurt a little but it is not anything you can't handle. When they put them on and when they adjust them are the worst. Take Tylenol before you go and later afterward and it should control the pain.
3. Colors are up to you. I sometimes think the colors look like something is caught in your teeth.
4. I don't think you take meds. unless you need them for discomfort.
5. Your orthodontist may give you information to prepare - what to expect, what you should not eat, etc. It is probably a good idea to have wax on hand at all times in case a wire is poking where it shouldn't.
6. I know it is scary but a lot of people go through it. As an adult, I am happy my teeth are straight. I am glad I wore braces when I was young.
7. Working on your braces is a little uncomfortable but not too painful.
** If you do get braces, please wear your retainer when you get them off. I did not wear mine all the time and now wish my insurance would cover braces on my bottom teeth again. It is very important. If you are going to commit to having braces, wear the retainer afterward!

1.braces are a bit difficult sometimes, i am currently wearing them. You can't eat certain foods and sometimes you cant chew gum (depending on the type of braces you get)
2. They mainly hurt when you first get them on and when you get the wire and bracket bands changed(mainly because that means your teeth are adjusting to the braces)
3. I would recommend silver because they don't show food stains that well. It really doesn't matter but I would not reccommend white at all because it turns yellow after eating your first meal.
4. no meds.
5. nothing to be prepared, just brush your teeth so that they look clean for the appt.
6.since your 11 it's neither, but be happy that you won't have your braces for your high school pics (the ones that really matter)
7. they change the wire by taking out the bands( the colored things on the brackets) and then they pull it out of holes that are in the molars (the farthest back teeth with braces) it doesn't hurt at all.
