Those trying to lend scientific credence to The Bible often cite Isaiah 40:21-22 - "the circle of the earth."

But a circle is flat, not spherical. Is there another quote from The Bible that I've missed? Where does it claim the Earth is a sphere?

Uncle, I'm just asking for the verse that says the Earth is a sphere. If you can find 1 that states it as a globe that would work also. So what do you have for me?

The Greek Mathematician Eratosthenes not only knew the earth was a sphere,he calculated it's circumference to within 16%.Pretty darn good for circa 260 b.c. It was only during the Dark Ages ( a period of christian church-mandated ignorance) was this knowledge lost

The world was considered flat at that point of time......

The sun circled the earth as well

And God talked to people on almost a weekly basis too.

Pleeeeeze! Gimme a break!
Are you trying to discredit the Bible?
Take various translations and you will find:
Circle, globe, sphere ....even 'vault'.
You are gnat-picking.
Give credit where credit is due.

No. The bronze age middle eastern goat herders that inspired this collection of tales and legends thought that it was flat dear.

Obviously you attended public school

Draw a straight line. There, that's flat.

Draw a circle. There, that's round.

The earth is round.

Got it now?
