Just for the heck of it, I'll gladly throw in my 2 cents worth on this one. I am Catholic, and I had a very interesting youth minister growing up. He pointed out some interesting facts that may make a few people here re-think some things. Jesus was of the Jewish faith. He was raised going to the Temple for services, and lived by the laws of the Jewish Church. Jesus was also a teacher. If you go back in Jewish history, you will find that in order to be recognized as a teacher in that faith, you must be a man who is married. If Jesus was recognized as a teacher by the Jewish people (which according to the Bible, he was), then how could he have NOT been married?

A lot of Christian's get mad when people say that Jesus loved Mary Magdalene because it goes against what they have been taught about Jesus. Since the bible doesn't say that Jesus had any special relationship with Mary Magdalene some people think that it can't be true. However, ancient Christian scrolls have been found that indicate that Jesus did have a special relationship with Mary Magdalene...or at least it was a different kind of relationship than Jesus had with His other disciples. There is no written record of Jesus ever being married or having a girlfriend, though. And as written about a person as He was you would think that there would be a record telling us He was married, had a girlfriend, or had a child. An interesting fact, though, is that Jewish custom during His time would have been for Him to be married and have a family.

It's not the married thing that gets them, it's the fact that he might of had children that gets them all tied up in a bundle. Marriage is a Holy thing which is ordained of God. But it is not proven that he was infatuated or even married. To say that Jesus loved Mary Magdalene, to some, implies that his love isn't the same for everyone. Which makes them feel as if he wasn't God. But he was the Great Mediator between God and man, the savior, not God. (Mark 13:32) (Baptism of Jesus) and many other scriptures indicate this.
Debbie, JESUS was not the arch angel micheal. That was Adam. He had already lived at this time and didn't need to come back to get a new body, he would be resurected with his old body. Jesus was chosen from before the foundations of the Earth!!! ( Isaiah 14 )

I think it's more that people get offended by the concept that Jesus' real gift was a semi-divine bloodline fathered by Jesus with Mary of Magdala. The so called "Holy Grail" as it were... Much work has gone into disproving this heresy, but it crops up from time to time through the centuries.
I am sure there is also some stigma because Mary of Magdala is often identified as being the loose woman that Jesus saves from stoning, though there is not real evidence for this; some say it arose simply to combat the notion that Jesus was intimately involved with Mary of Magala.
One has to remember that Jesus was full in his human as well as his divine nature; Jesus laughed, cried, knew joy and sorrow. He delighted in the presence of children and wept at the death of Lazarus; he even attended a wedding and performed a miracle there.
He knew and understood the joys of life, love being one of them. But what one has to remember is that love manifests in many forms; Greek(the language of most early surviving new testament manuscripts) has three words for what we call "Love" each implying a different depth of meaning.
So it is very fair to say Jesus loved Mary of Magdala, as he loved his other disciples; but I think the real offense comes when people try to apply that "love" in a more erotic fashion.

I think that people view Jesus Christ as being beyond the lustful love that imperfect human men have for women. He is The Messiah - The Redeemer - the perfect man - the Son of God and he had an altruistic love for humanity that transcends the passionate love we feel for someone of the opposite sex. At least, that is what I think most Christians believe.

I bet your description of Mary, is really the description of your WIFE. From looking at your face, it has surely been farted on. When someone hides behind a mask it tells me two things. Either he is up to no good, or his face is so bad it has pock marks on it from all the farts that have been blown on the face. Ye Gads !! You look and sound bad and I'll bet you smell bad too. Yours is a self description !!

Jesus did love Mary of Magdala, he loved everyone. He could have married, but He didn't. An event as significant as that would have been recorded and wasn't. He was human like us in all things except sin. Distorting the truth is bound to annoy someone.
Cheers :-)

1) I don't get mad by what anyone believes. If they're wrong, they're the ones who going to have to account to God for it.
2) There's no scriptural basis for Jesus being married. I would think that that's one of the things that would have been mentioned if it had happened.

Well, Jesus loved everyone, but obviously not in that romantic sense. Jesus's one and only true love (in that sense) is the Church -- the eternal, worldwide body of believers. How could one pathetic human be a match for God?
EDIT: Hey, what's with all the thumbs-down? This is what the Bible says, and I answered the question appropiately.
