I am a Christian, but I do agree with you that there are a lot of people out there that pick and choose what scriptures that they want to follow. It's definitely something I don't know how to think about it..
I mean.. on one hand.. each persons choices in life are theirs.. they're personal.. their spiritual choices as well are personal.. they can do what they want..
BUT... if that is the case.. those people are the ones that shouldn't get "preachy".. You can't tell someone else how things should be if you're not going to follow things yourself, right?
I prefer to live my spiritual life in the way that I feel is right.. and I don't go around being preachy about things.. and I also don't tell others what is wrong or right in their spiritual life, etc..

Given that standard, it is easy to question anything and everything. We are all hypocrites in some way. Even the greatest of human beings are hypocritical at times. When looking at something like religion of any kind we need to look at what it teaches, not necessarily what the people who follow it claim it to be. There are Muslims who blow up building, and kill people, and there are those who teach that is strictly against what the prophet Muhammad taught. There are Christians who try to love others, and then there are those who think scaring you into religion is the way to go. You can't blame God for the things people choose to do, no matter what you believe. If there is a God, and he allowed us to do only the things he wanted us to do...we would be nothing more than mindless robots.

You are rather confused about the meaning of the word, "hypocrite".
You see, Christianity went through some serious changes. It no longer (with rare exceptions) believes in the utter infallibility of their Bible (unlike Islam which is still in the Middle Ages in that respect). They recognize the limits of the people in those ages, and see past that to those things of relevance to their religion today.
You seem to have missed that point. I suggest reading. A hypocrite has contradictory views depending on what is expedient at the moment. Unless the Christian is saying "the Bible is always correct and true" and then denying one of the verses is true, they aren't hypocrites.
Your's is a very tired and worn-out argument. I'm not a Christian, just someone trained in formal logic who is tired of such silliness.
It is also considered "bigotry" when one blames a whole group for the actions of a few. May I suggest to you that Christianity has outgrown the limited view you have for them? That there may be some (feel free to vent at them) who are hypocrites of the sort that your argument would have validity, but that most are shaking their heads at how ill-informed your post is? I am.

God loves everyone. We all have flaws and God will deal with each one in His own way. We ask for forgivness if we are being hypocrites. If you are so smart about the Bible then why are you asking us whether or not hypocracy is a requirement to get into heaven? Of course it's not - bone head - You just like to stir up the stew, don't you. You know how to get under people's skin. Manipulative woman basher.

God loves everybody. No matter who you are. Its not like he doesn't love you if you are/are not a hypocrite, no. He loves everybody. And no...Thats not a requirement to get into heaven. God did not say anything in the Bible about having to be a hypocrite to get into heaven. All that I know of that he said about getting into heaven is that, 'all that believe in me will live eternally in paradice.' Thats all I know :]

So, basically, you are not asking a question. You are just saying that you think Christians are hypocrites. (and apparently there are no Atheist, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, or other hypocrites in your world?)
If you really want to know what God expects of people, then maybe you should stop Christian hating, do some reading, and figure it out for yourself.

Yes, that is why jesus died for us, some people might not know the truth like you do, for them it's not truth yet.. they have to have the Holly Spirit come to them and press it upon their heart.. as for you, whether it be the sabbath, pork, state of the dead, whatever you already know, just because you know it, you can't call people hypocrites for that.. besides you are a hypocrite for judging :) and God loves you too, "all have fallen short"

If I may take sarcastic license... how nice to see a child with the name calling, that bothers me.
Those who follow God will not pick and choose - I think you already know that - like you and I, Christians are imperfect as well..

I like the sarcasm. "Christianity" is just about you worshiping God or ultimately the pope. And the church is a huge hypocrite. They say don't do harm to others, don't sin. etc, but they were killing people because of their beliefs or because people won't follow it. They say you have free will but say you must do this and that to be "christian".

God loves everyone. He just doesn't love all the things people do. You should read the Bible. If you believe and you do your best to follow him, you will get in to heaven.
