not much at all. for women the average walking pace is 1 mile every 20 minutes. based on a BMR of 1500 cals that equates to 62.5 cals an hour roughly 30 cals expended for every mile walked. since each gram of fat provides 9 cals per gram and since fat is not the sole energy source during low intensity exercise it would probably be close to 2 grams per mile.

low intensity exercise is surely better than none but it is far from optimum for fat loss. the higher the intensity of exercise the more energy that is expended during the actual exercise sessions and the greater the increase in the metabolic rate after exercise. low intensity exercise such as walking does not burn many calories during exercise, does not deplete muscle glycogen and does not increase the metabolic rate after exercise. 15 minutes of high intensity biking burns more calories than 45 minutes of walking.

Well, when you excersize you burn calories not grams of fat, swimming a mile you burn about 400-500 calories. Everyone is different so try weighing yourself, walk a mile then weigh yourself again. However, you are probably fine just the way you are so don't become to preoccupied with your weight!

Have fun walking!

i started walking 2 miles a day and cut my calories by about 200 a day and i've now cut them by about 500 and am walking 7 miles a day. i have lost 42 lbs and i feel great. it took a while to start seeing results and you will stop seeing them if you dont increase you exercise and decrease your calories gradually. but yes you will see results, as long as you change your diet along with the exercise.

In the mood for the hot meal? Make a big pot of veggie bean soups, divide into two-cup containers, and store in the freezer. Before bed, place a container within the fridge, then grab it before heading out the door the next day.

Eat in front of a person rather than a screen. It cuts down on mindless eating and making you more accountable for each mouthful.

Don’t focus on your faults, spotlight your best bits. Smaller waist? Belt it in. Lovely bust? Lower the neckline. Beautifully shaped butt? Rock tight jeans. Sexy legs? Show ‘em off. It’s really that simple.

For sandwich-lovers, use spinach or swiss chard leaves instead of a wrap, skip the portion of cheese, and load high on the veggies.

It’s the little things that count. Invest inside spanks. They cinch in the wobbly bits and cause you to be feel taught, toned and fantastic.
