Mustard

I will often "crave" mayo, but I have learned that some of the spicy mustards can actually taste as good or better on the foods I like;

I'm a big fan of Heinz Spicy Brown Mustard. It is inexpensive and has just as much flavor--or more--than Gulden's.

I have even grown to like it on turkey sandwiches.

However, I will always use mayo when I make cole slaw or pasta salad.

My next step is to try using a vegetarian mayo...like Nayonnaise.

We fast often in the Eastern Orthodox Church, and I would like to be able to make food for fasting (from eggs) that I can share with the rest of the congregation.

When making salads, I generally use mayonnaise more than mustard. The mayo is more bland, and takes on the other flavors in the salad without overpowering them. On sandwiches, I like the kick of mustard.

Mustard

Usually, mayonnaise. However, there are a lot more varieties of mustard available. Mustard is definitely a more flavorful condiment. Mayonnaise gets my vote, however, because of its versatility as a base for so many excellent sauces and condiments.

I like a lot of mayo w/a little mustard. I am trying to cut down on the mayo though because of the high fat content. Hard to do, I love mayo.

Depends on the sandwich. Cheese and tomato with mayo. But for roast beef and ham, both are good unless its a grilled cheese. With a philadelphia hoagie, mayonnaise is an absolute!

On a sandwich? In potato salad? WHAT?

I like both. But if I'm dieting, I skip the mayo & go for mustard--it has ZERO calories.
