i like this guy ALOT..
o.k. so when i don't go completely out of my way to talk to him, he always starts a conversation with me, and flirts with me majorly. But if i do try to get his attention and start talking to him first.. he is a total jack*ss, really rude, and won't even talk to me.. i really don't get it.. can u explain this to me.. please?

He wants what he can't have. So, when you don't want him he gets curious and comes over to see if he can get your attention. He gets bored if he doesn't have the "thrill of the chase". If you give attention without him chasing you then he believes that he "has" you and can act any way he wants.
The first problem there is that the way he wants to act is apparently like a total jackass. The second problem is that he gets bored of you fast if he doesn't have to work to get you. I would drop this loser like a bad habit. Get rid of him because if you don't, he will eventually get bored of you and you'll be the one getting dumped.

Sounds like he's got pretty rigid ideas of gender roles and doesn't like the idea of being pursued by a girl in any way. I've had similiar experiences. Generally it didn't take me very long to decide the guy was something of a jerk.

He could just be a flirt or he doesn't like you coming up to him talking to him, he likes to be the first to do stuff which isn't a bad thing but still what the hell is his problem.

Simple... dont get involved with him, He likes to be in control and is afrid to loose control. He starts a conversation and is nice and flirty... he is in control, you start the conversation, he is a Jack ***... He is NOT in control. You see? hope I helped you some.

Ok..understand some guys. He is madly in love with you but is unfortunately letting his emotions run away with him and that is portraying his feelings the wrong way. He likes you and will get over it.

He wants to initiate the conversation, then its ok...
If you do, then he "jerks you off", because you are in control, and he cant stand it!

i think his guy has issues. he's probably one of those mcps who gets a kick out of girls who play hard to get and hates girls who makes the first move.
do urself a favor and stay away no matter how this move makes him turn on you..
