First off, happy Mother's Day! Second, how wonderful for you to decide that you want to stick it out as a family and give your child the stability of having just one religion. It takes a lot of courage to stand up and confront past wrongs in our lives, but it can be done. The Catholic Church is all about forgiveness. It realizes that as humans, it is in our nature to make mistakes, and that forgiveness is a necessary part of life. Jesus taught these very things to the disciples, and it is these very teachings that the Catholic church is founded on. Absolutely yes, you can become Catholic. There is a program in place to allow adults to come into the church and to be forgiven of their past sins. You do deserve forgiveness. The first step will be to go to the priest at the church and set up a meeting with him. He will want to get to know you better, and will want to know why you want to join the church. He will counsel you on many topics. He will also enroll you in the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) program. There are regular meetings that you go to that will instruct you in the practices and beliefs of the church. By Easter of next year, you will be a confirmed member of the church. If you have any questions, or just need someone to talk to, please feel free to e-mail me privately. I'd be happy to lend an ear!

Make thins right in your heart first then you will make things right with god. There are no limits to conversion in God's eyes, only in man. If Jesus could forgive Mary Magdline and have her follow him during his lifetime I'm pretty sure he can have in it his heart for you living your life. The catholic church and the current pope have been taking a hard look at tradition. They recently changed the idea that an unbaptized child would stay in percrtory.

My point is if you feel true in your heart then yes you should convert. Don't live a life of fear of God wrath, live a life in reflecton of God's love. Man can not tell you the toughts of God.

Yes.

The Catholic Church is full of sinners trying to become saints.
Everybody is welcome.

If you are interested in joining or just learning more about the Catholic Church, contact your local parish and ask about information about their RCIA Inquiry group.

You can go and ask any questions you want.

This is the first step in RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) but you can stop at any time.

There is no obligation to become a Catholic.

With love and prayers in Christ.

So you made a mistake. Hey, it's human nature. There is no reason you cannot become a Catholic. Just go to your local priest and talk about it. God is forgiving.

Part of the conversion process addresses matters from the past, like this one, and then resolves them forever ... so there's no reason you can't become Catholic.

Contact your local parish about enrolling in the RCIA program for new Catholics.

God bless you and your family.

God doesn't care if you had a child out of wedlock, the catholic religion probably will though.
There are many christian religions that do not care about things like that.
Catholics are hypocritical.
Good luck.

God forgives sin, you can be forgiven as well. If God forgives... the Catholic church should as well. I am not Catholic but I would think you could forgiven... especially since you aren't a member yet. You can't follow the teachings of the church if you don't know them.

I think it is great that you care enough to get married and have a cohesive family. You will make a great mother and wife. Talk to the Priest about the events that have transpired and you desire to make them right and that will go along way towards your conversion. Happy Mothers Day.

Of course you are able. There are many who have. We had a single mothers baby baptized recently. If God forgives can man hold it against him/her? I think not.

NO CHILD is a mistake. All are planned by God.

>>>I just want to make things right with God!<<<

God forgives all sins. If you are truly sorry then there is no reason why you cannot become catholic.
