Right-click in the cell containing the text you need to rotate. Select Format Cells from the context menu. Select the Alignment tab and there you can align text anyway you need. Hope this helped.

If by flipping sideways you mean the word is vertical then right click the cell with the word in it, format cells, alignment then use the little red diamond beside the word text in the orientation section to make the word go vertical

Go to the Format menu, click on Cells, and under the Orientation section (on the Alignment tab) of the dialog box that comes up, click on the red diamond thing and drag it until the text sample is how you want your text to be. Then click on Ok.

Depends on the version of Excel you're using. In the later versions (I'm not sure when it was first available) right click on the cell you need to "rotate" the text in. Select Format Cell from the menu. In the new window, go to the Alignment tab and you should see a window that allows you to set the angle of your text.

Right-click on the cell and select Format Cells.
Click on the alignment tab.
On the right-hand side is the Orientation, just simply move the line to the required angle, or even just type in the angle you want 90° to -90°.
And then Click OK.
