You won't be able to get a loan in your name, so I would suggest a Honda or Toyota, used. Both of these makes, have high dependability, good gas mileage, good resale value, can be sporty looking if you choose, and are overall better cars than any American made models.

Long answer: depends on what your looking for, obviosuly you are looking for just american cars so i will simplify it for ya.

Chrysler (dodge, jeep)
Ford (lincoln, mercury)
Gmc (chevy, pontiac)

these companies are the same, so at the moment you are only asking about 3 different companies, because the others are just subdivisions of the larger company and use a lot of the same parts. a lot of this question gets down to the model of the vehicle you are looking for, and -what- you are looking for (car, truck, 4x4, front wheel drive, rear wheel drive, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 cylinder, good gas mileage, power, speed, torque, good looks, occupancy, auto transmission, manual transmission, continuously variable transmission, and etc). make a list of what all you are looking for in a car and post it on here asking what people think would fit those criteria and you will be in a lot better shape.

Short answer: I would reccomend Gmc for cheap and compatible parts and reliability.

go get a mercury they are built better than ford inspite that they are basically copies of the ford line up. lincolns are not bad also so consider them , however toyota is probably more dependable than most other brands. the important thing is to take care of the car and the car will take care of you. i am also turning sixteen in august and i am to looking for a car.

Well they are all American cars, and since I work for GM I have some experience. I'd say Pontiac, only becasue they have the greatest warranty out of all of them, its 100,000 miles and they have affordable cars such as the G5. Good luck
