The car is a 98 chevy lumina, 4 door automatic, 3.1 engine
looks good cosmetically, no new parts recently

The kbb value is $2260, does anyone suggest that I should not buy this car, or that it is a good deal? Any good/bad experiences, please tell me.

I have a 98 Buick Century, which is a cousin to the Lumina. It's been a good car, but it did have some problems with electrical things. In the 7 years I've owned it, I've had to replace a window motor and the blink/washer/cruise control unit. That last one was an expensive repair as the part cost a fortune.

Everyone believes in the kelly blue book. I work at a dealership and let me tell you, kbb is full of it. You need to offer the seller about 30% less than kbb says. The seller will probably meet you half way. Like the other guy says, take it to a auto shop first.

I had a lumina and it was a great car. never let me down. the 3.1 isn't as good as the 3.8 but its still a good engine. my lumina was a 3.1 too. I never had transmission problems or A/C problems or any thing my wife was hit by a drunk driver and it was totaled or I would still have it.
