30 January 1933, appointed Reich Chancellor by President von Hindenburg in a deal with von Papen that had Hitler joining a coalition in order to give it a majority over the Communists. Hitler would not join unless named Chancellor and von Papen and the Conservatives (monarchists) thought they could control him.

January 30th, 1933.
I remember this day exactly; it's the same day the girl I loved in high school's has her birthday, except for the year, that is.
She broke my heart eventually.
