Can someone help with this MATH.... PROBLEM... with Global Warming?
Global Warming MEANS "World Wide Warming!" It is ONLY A Political Term = NOT based in Real Science!
The EARTH is covered by "Three Quarters WATER!" Basic Science, it takes ONE-Btu to raise One Cubic Centimeter ONE Degree Centigrade!
HOW many "Gazillion Cubic Centimeters are there ONLY on the Surface of Planet Earth COVERED by 3/4 Water?"
HOW many Btu's would it take TO RAISE THE SURFACE TEMPERATURE ONE DEGREE?
DO THE MATH!
And, were are the Million TEMPERATURE MEASURING SITES on the Many Oceans THAT TELL US THAT THE OCEAN TEMPERATURES ARE RISING? Not!
Oh yes, POLAR temperatures have varied LESS Than one degree in the past 100-Years. Noticed I said VARIED, = NOT RISEN!
Thanks, RR

I pretty much agree with you, except I think you mean calories, not BTUs. A BTU is the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of one pound of water through 1 degree F (58.5 degrees F - 59.5 degrees F) at sea level.
A calorie is the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of one gram of water 1 degree C.
Now that we have defined the terms properly, you can really do the math...

The answer in Calories (not BTU's) and therefore also in cubic centimetres is 13.4 heptillion (361 million sq km of ocean, ave depth 3,711 metres, 100,000^3 cubic cm per cubic km).
"Global Warming" isn't a political term - it has been discussed by scientists for 100 years before it became a political issue, it's origins are in science.
Ocean temperatures are nowadsys largely measured by satellite - the number of sites is therefore infinite.
Some Polar temperatures have varied by less than one degree - most haven't. The Polar regions have warmed more than anywhere else. In recent years the Siberian polar region, for example, has risen by 4 degrees C, the average is about 2.

Who told you Global Warming is not based on real science? The International Panel of Climate Scientists (over 2000 of the worlds smartest scientists) agree we are causing Global Warming. And your very own observation on the amount of extra heat this planet is accumulating should be very alarming to you and everyone else.
Only in this country is there sometimes a debate. Usually it is from ultra conservatives who have a financial interest in not believing facts of global warming (oil tycoons etc.), or from people who are aren't very bright. Lots of the time both of these types of people appear on FOX News, so beware of watching that channel for anything other than purely entertainment value. (It's kind of like Saturday Night Live, I watch it often and can't stop laughing!)
Also check your other sources, if it came from a person who blindly votes republican and doesn't care about the issues or someone who isn't very bright, that might also be your problem.
Might I suggest reading factual material, and offering it to those around you who might also have the blind republican, or lack of brightness problem.
Good Luck with that!

Actually, the measurements are reaching into the billions now, using several fleets of robotic instrument packages. Perhaps you didn't notice them because they don't normally publish in ALL CAPS

You should watch the Great Global Warming Swindle on Google Video. It talks about how global warming, while it exists, is not man-made and that it is a politically motivated agenda.

supply up utilising Liberals as an opposition, or excuse. Even President George Bush sees international warming as a severe undertaking. Liberals hating U.S.? i've got faith there's a freedom of speech there? purely because of the fact they produce different evaluations then you definately seem to have would not advise that they hate the country. i think of you're able to see greater to data and enable human beings have the evaluations they choose. And save the political questions interior the splendid area, not here. Btw, to those that thinks it is a 'great question': Did you advise to declare that U.S. is to blame for 27.6% of international huge eco-friendly living house gasoline emissions? if so, you're able to desire to declare what number of U.S. emissions that vehicles stands for. if your question became into properly stated you're able to desire to declare how most of the worlds eco-friendly living house gasoline emissions that the U.S. is to blame for to make it an entire question.
