Do you really believe Jesus would be pleased with your dishonesty, even if you're trying to save people from being taken in by what you think is a cult?

You obviously haven't done the things you claim since Christ is at the center of everything we do in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons).

I'm not sure what a Morman is. Mormons though believe in Christ, and if you attended an LDS church more than once, it is unlikely that you would not have heard of Christ. In fact, the official name of the Church is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints". The scriptures that they use are the Bible, the Book of Mormon and another volume called "The Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price".

Mormons are basically Christian, in that they follow Christ, though they do have some differences between themselves and Orthodox Christianity.

Counterfeit Christianity is probably the best description I can give for a cult. Counterfeit Christianity is an imitation of real Christianity. Bible terms like "Jesus Christ, Resurrection, Salvation, and Atonement" are used by the Cult, but the various cult groups have assigned entirely different meanings to these terms.
Like counterfeit money which is sometimes difficult to detect, so it is difficult to detect counterfeit Christianity, since it looks like the real thing. Experts examining counterfeit money often hold it up to a strong light and look for identifying marks. Counterfeit Christianity also has identifying marks, which can be seen when, held up to an even stronger light, the light of God's word, the bible.
We are at an advantage if we know what to expect from a cult. Cultists are very well trained to appear "Christian", and indeed believe they are the true churches, and you need the deliverance! Therefore, be bold and ask the question, "do you believe the group you represent is the only true church on the face of the earth?"
If they reply that they are, or if they are evasive, making remarks like "Well, every church has a measure of truth but...", you have made an early detection of a Cultist.
Every true Christian, if asked the same question, regardless of his denomination, would reply that the true church is comprised of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, and HE (not some organization) is THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE, (John 14:6). No legitimate denomination would claim that they alone and their members have salvation exclusively, but the cults (the counterfeits) do.

I've been a member my whole life (18+ years). We accept both the Bible and the Book of Mormon as scripture, not just the Book of Mormon. And the Book of Mormon itself is another testament of Jesus Christ. LDS accept Christ as the Savior, and the Lord, and the official name of the Church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. So yeah, I'd say Christ is a pretty big aspect of our church.

As for cult, I don't think cults emphasize family unity and preach its followers to stay away from unhealthy drinks/drugs, and to strive to be like Christ. I'm not isolated from society and I don't worship the devil. So are we a cult? Nah.

Mr. Peepers, I know you have some ill will towards the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, for whatever reason, but that isn't true. I've always been taught that I can decide for myself what is right. It's not a "controlling" environment. You won't get kicked out for petty little things like you are insinuating.

Depends on the "ward" you attend, and the hierarchy of men running it. Some encourage discussions, most are just Joseph Smith worship.

The church mormon meets all the requirements of a 'cult', but so do most centrally organized religions. Islam, by contrast, has no centralized structure, but only the interpretation of the Q'ran by local mullahs or imams. It can vary from peaceful to warlike.

The Morg teaches not only what the Book of Mormon means, but what to think, how to pray, and what the answer to the prayer is. It's a very controlling from the top down.

I guess you didn't attend very many services.. we talk of Jesus Christ most of the time.. He is the leader of our Church.. the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.. we even had to add a subtitle to the Book of Mormon because some people didn't understand that it is another testament of Jesus Christ like the Bible (but then some people don't understand that the Bible is a testament of Jesus Christ either)
