I was there today, to support our Republic, Democracy and Secularism. Over a million people were there to share the same atmosphere and to give the same msg. People coming from each side of the gulf have filled the ferries with red and white colored flags..And all the beautiful sea shore was in red from one end to the other upto where eyes could see.
I had never seen such a joyful, exciting, amasing view and never had I felt so proud of my country and my people..

THANK GOD THAT TURKEY IS and IS ALWAYS GOING TO BE A SECULAR COUNTRY !
(dedicated to those who are desperately trying to change it)

It was wonderful to see our citizens protect our flag. I watched it on TV and it really brought tears to my eyes. However there's something i'd like to say, after seeing some things that bothered me during the meeting: The Turkish flag doesn't belong to a particular party or group, it belongs to all the Turkish people; from the people who fought in the War of Independence to the future's Turks. It doesn't matter if the person's supporting CHP, DSP or AKP. The priorities of Turks will always be the Turkish flag and Turkish land.

It was an amazing event. I watched it on TV. It reminded me of the demonstrations we had in north Cyprus. I believe we still have the world record: 80,000 people (and our population is 250,000)! We gathered for peace in Cyprus and EU membership. Unfortunately it did not happen (yet). But those demonstrations resulted in the change of government.
You have to be careful with such big demonstrations. Sometimes, some foreign powers may use your energy for their own purposes. I know those millions of people want a more modern, more democratic Turkey. But when they say they are against EU, I start to think. EU membership is not bad for Turkey. Some European politicians may say things that can make you angry, but EU values are very positive and Turkey needs that.
If you can improve the economy and human rights in Turkey, then you can bargain with the EU for membership.

That was amazing! Turkey's secularist and modern citizens were there to protect their unique country! We should always react like that to the bugs and flies inside us. Our country was always in danger, and it will be forever because of our unique strategical location but we are the unarmed soldiers of our country."Turkiye bası bos bir ulke degildir, kimse istedigi gibi at oynatamaz!"
