My sister eats her toenails. She actually started this GROSS habbit after trying to stop bitting her fingernails and just moved over to her toenails. But on the plus side she has beatifull fingernails now!!! And I can't get her to stop bitting her toenails!!!

Probably because they ate the finger nails. It is a bad habit, but some people do. I don't think they realize what they are doing.
