If the pain is that bad, you probably have an abscess. You need to see a dentist immediately. Many ERs have dentists on call. And an untreated abscess can kill you because the bacteria from the infection can migrate to the heart. It is a little known medical fact that prior to antibiotics, one of the leading causes of death were the consequences of bad teeth.

Awwww Mr Magoo you have all my sympathy as there is nothing worse than toothache! Look, you gotta stop downing that whisky as youll just end up with toothache PLUS hangover which is not a good combination. Get onto NHS Direct (0845 4647) and they can advise you where to go for emergency dental treatment. Big Hugs x

you have a better shot at dying from the drugs and ALCOHOL you are consuming together ...you need to be on an antibiotic.... call a dentist--if you can't reach one because it's the weekend or something and you are truly in agony, go to the emergency room...or urgent care center nearest you... oh and you COULD die from ANY infection even a simple one depending on how far it spreads ... in the meantime, get some nice WARM (not hot) water and add a LOT of salt to it and stir... then take a HUGE swig of THAT and swish it around and around your mouth and then SPIT IT OUT.... do this several times---it helps the pain a LITTLE.. but NO MORE BOOZE---geez... and call a dentist as soon as you can...

No you can't die from toothache - but you might have a serious problem if you keep mixing the paracetamol with the whiskey.

Oil of cloves was the old remedy.

To the Dentist asap.

Sounds as though you may possibly have an abscess so off to the dentist for you. And yes, you could die of toothache. Prior to the advent of antibiotics you could have died as a result of a large abscess.

You need to go to the doctor or dentist. An absessed tooth can kill you. It starts out as a localized infection and can spread through your bloodstream creating a toxic situation. Get a professional opinion and pay no attention to the morons above.

If the pain is caused by an infection, you can die from the untreated infection. Just a hundred years ago and before, that was one of the main causes of death.

yes -- it could be an infection leading to blood poisoning and death.

But of course you could pull it out yourself and risk a heart attack.

I think the paracetamol/alcohol combo was real clever .... NOT lol perhaps you'll die of liver failure but it'll cure the toothache
