What if I'm into the whole surfing thing but were I live we don't get any waves like that? Is there anything I can do that is relativly close to surfing? What about wake surfing behind a boat?

Skateboarding is close, look at how the old school guys skated not at how the modern guys skate, they were imitating surf moves on land. Rent DogTown and Zboys, the documentary to see what I mean.

Skateboarding, like the guy above me said. Skating actually morphed out of surfing, it uses most of the same muscle groups and skills. It's not exactly the same but it's closer than any water sport where you would be towed.

Skimboarding is also good stuff. But everything is fun, wakeboarding, waterskiing, etc!

Enjoy!

Some people surf little waves for speed. As they say, speed kills!
