for example according to some chick tracts that I read the Vatican controls the the Council on Foreign Relations, international bankers, the Mafia, the Masons, and the New Age movement. Also that the vatican controlled the Nazi Holocaust in order to kill all the Jews and to gain world domination for the pope.

I thought the chick tracts were all made for humor, but I met a born-again christian that was trying to convince me that it's all true.

Hey, let up on bashing good ole Jack T. Chick (notice the initials? Just like a savior...) I am a Deist, a Freemason, and hangout with Wiccans who listen to rock and/or roll (Principal Skinner). You would think I would be offended by these 36 pages of paranoia and hate, but I am not. Shoot, NO! I collect them.

In the JTC tract "Lisa" it shows that child molestors can go to heaven if they just repent and accept Jesus.

In "The Curse of Baphomet" Jack teaches us that the fez Shriners wear is from Moslems dipping their hats in the blood of Christians (Yuck!)

In "The Nervous Witch" we see that Harry Potter leads children to the Devil.

My favorite is "Angels?" wherein we find out that Lew Siffer (get it?) actually brought about Christian rock music. Dang, I knew that!

So, go buy up these tracts before ignorant and innocent folks get them and think they are the truth. BTW, if you find a copy of Lisa, let me know. It is hard to find.

OK. I have never heard of these "chick tracts" before and I googled them. I guess there are alot of people who believe them.

I don't know what to say about them. except that if people truly believe what they say about the Holy Catholic Church then I feel bad for them.

I know that the church has done some bad things in the past, and the church is not ashamed to admit that they have made mistakes. But that website was horrible.

There is no one on earth who is perfect. The church is made up of men and men do sin. So it is natural that priests will have made mistakes. But that website - well it made me sick.

I hope that people do not really truly believe that stuff.

But I am afraid that many do.

Unfortunately some people are so ignorant of the facts that they will believe anything. Chick tracts are packaged ignorance, and anyone who reads them comes away knowing less than they did before reading them - but unfortunately thinking they have learned something.

Considering that you find the wretched things in just about every Bible bookstore, somebody obviously believes them enough to buy them. It's hard for me to understand the mentality of someone who believes them, but there are those out there who think that they are second in truth only to the Bible itself.

I wish there was a way to get Chick tracts banned under "Hate Crimes," but that doesn't seem likely.
