There really isn't any evidence that shows proof that the end of the world will be on December 21, 2012, so why should anyone out there even believe it?

Why should people out there believe predictions made by a whole bunch of dead indians?

I am also wondering what kind of people are saying that it is the end of the world...and what kind of people believe it...

Is this just another false end of the world prediction? like the one made in 1999-2000, or 06-06-2006?

Please get back to me, im curious.

Why would it? The world ended for the Mayans but there are still billions of people on Earth. Look at how the Mayans said it would end. With a flood. KuKulcan ( the mayans supreme being) suddenly said one day that me must return to the seas, so he got up went to the beach jumped in and never returned. Global warming could cause a flood by sea where the few inhabitants of Atlanis still live. I think the end of the world as we know it would be a more realistic idea.

lemme tell you something simple.
for the same reason why i didnt want to believe that the world was gonna end in the year 2000....because worrying about the apocalypse is silly and it destroys your focus on the actually important aspects of life... plus, you shouldn't care. maybe you will die next month or you might as well live until 2070. this is something completely out of your control, so i suggest you (and all the other people) start focusing on those things in life that you CAN control! there are so many other beautiful, interesting things. arts, love, travelling, family, career. lets focus more on that and less on apocalyptic predictions. if it will come, theres nothing you can do about it, but you can choose how to spend the time you have left in this life.

Brian,
Man can never make that determination. GOD has already made that decision and HIS SON said that none, save the FATHER knows that time. Why would anyone expect to be able to know or even care? I certainly don't plan on knowing. Just plan on being prepared when CHRIST returns to be at HIS Judgment and you will be fine. Read, study, and obey GOD's WORD so that you too will be ready. Continue to read, study, and obey as if today is the day of judgment and when the time comes there will be no surprieses. Have a wonderful week.
Thank you,
Eds, Non-Denominational Christian

It wasn't a prediction as the end of the world. That's the big problem, those people who are scared keep thinking that it is.

It is th end of the world as we know it. It doesn't say that the world will cease. It just means there will be a lot of changes, hence the world as we know it will end.

Like everything else people chose to read into prophecies what isn't there.

We really don't have actual explanations as to why the Mayan calendar ends then. Maybe they thought it was the end of some cycle. Maybe that's where they ran out of space? If they made some actual predictions, and they really occurred, then we might take this more seriously. I don't know that that's the case.

Yes, it is "just another false end of the world prediction." Couldn't make it any simpler than that.

If anyone here sincerely believes the world will end in 2012, I invite you to send me your e-mail address, and I will e-mail you on New Year's Day 2013 to let you know how stupid you were, lol. ;)

It says in the Bible that no one will know when the world will end. God will choose the day and time. It could be today, or it could be a thousand years from now. No one knows.

Sod's law states that any olympic games host nation will have at least 5 years of international ridicule for not finishing their stadium before the apocalypse comes along, so no - maybe in 2017 :)

no one knows when the world will end. NO ONE!
so I wouldn't believe the world would end in 2012 or 2099 or 2008.
