God is the Word. When he said let there be light the Word has to be spoken to create.

good question but i guess that could be answered with the trinity, he was talking to himself probably after all he is father, son, and holy spirit. the one is three and the three are one. what a mystery, kinda gives you a picture of a schizophrenic god but "great is the mystery" "for who has known the mind of the lord"
