as a former medical secretary I know that you need the following courses: medical billing - anatomy & physiology - medical terminalogy - coding courses - medical software training. It took me about 3 years to finish all my schooling. Its a good field - so good luck to you!

Depends on the school, but it is typically about 5-6 months, at least thats how long that course is at my school and the others around my area.
You will learn, Medical billing and coding (ICD-9 and CPT), anatomy, terminology, billing software ( we use Lytec), etc....

I had a major skipping habit in HS. I used to go to my friend's house before school, hotbox in the bathroom and then decide if we felt like going. Sometimes we stayed in and sometimes we showed up fried. If we showed up, we'd go smoke up again at lunch time. One time, I screwed up so big while skipping, I was too scared to face my parents for a week. Just took off couch surfing. I'm surprised I actually went back. They should have just murdered me. Incredibly, I graduated and completely cleaned up my act. Still embarrassed by the amount of skipping I did and the crap I got up to.
