should we use treated lumber or cedar for our front deck?

Cedar cost a little more but it looks better and last longer. The PT is more likely to split, the cedar is not. The painter is right you must maintain

Use what you can afford and like they are both comparable and will rot if not maintained, I do plenty of decks and the cedar WILL rot just like most woods Good luck Les the painter
