P.S. The reason your eggs came out in chunks was because they are too fresh. The best eggs to use for boiled eggs are older ones as they have a larger air cell. But please don't toss those wonderful fresh eggs out. Make something else with them. Hey, once I made a stir-fry that I cooked the veggies a little too long, so I made the best beef stew ever!

I have never had this problem so it could be the method you are using to cook them, Here's what I do, place eggs in pan cover with water, bring to a slow rolling boil, turn off heat, cover and let sit 15 minutes. Immediately from pan and place in bowl of ice water. The shell will be very easy to remove and there will be no breakage of the white

At this point you can't do much. to prevent it next time, make a tiny hole on each side of the egg with the needle before cooking, start in cold water and don;t bring to full boil, just let them simmer on very low heat. Don't cook them too long and majke sure they are very fresh.

They're too fresh, that's why. I hated it when I'd get a fresh case in and they would not peel right. I started buying two cases and aging one. No problems after that. Aged eggs peel like a dream.

hit tha eggs on tha pointy side..on top..i think theres an air bubble there and it helps the eggs come out nicer..or just chop 'em up and make an egg salad
