Yes, it is possible. But it will take major breakthroughs in virology and biochemistry. The virus does all of its work INSIDE the cells of the body. As yet we have precious few (if any) medicines that will penetrate the cells. Most modern medicines do all of their work outside the cells in the body.
But, IMHO, that the advances will eventually find a way to overcome the insidious nature of this and all other viral diseases.
