I am a Muslim , but I am not claiming I'm the only one being hated. I know theres lots of hatred towards christians and jews, and blacks, and everything. Don't think I'm singling myself out, but I'm just speaking of Islam and us Muslims for the moment.

Oh yeah, and I'm an American and don't know arabic, and never been to an Islamic country, and haven't even been to a house where the family is Muslim. I know of the beliefs and I believe in it, and I know the people are nice.

So thanks all for the responces, and don't take this as a generalization please.

Peace everyone, bye.

I think Americans hate the people and the ideology that attacked us on 9/11. I think Islam has been highjacked by some vicious people and these are America's enemies.

People hate out insecurity that stems from a lack of understanding. I'm not a Muslim and I don't hate anyone. Following 9/11 I kept hearing a lot of hateful statements about Islam not towards it. This forced me to get a better understanding of Islam as it seemed apparent that there was most likely a gross lack of understanding. One of the first things I learned was that most hateful statements about Islam are the complete opposite from the truth.

If you are going to judge a group based on the actions of some its members, you need to ask yourself if members of your group have done anything similar.

So to answer your question "Do all the people who oppose Muslims just hate Islam, or hate the People?"

They hate the people who blasphemously murder and massacre in the name of Islam and then use these blasphemous actions to define Islam. So probably both and this is sad as they do not understand and will only make things worse for everyone.

Yes, you are a muslim in America. You are probably like everyone else, some people hate you, some people like you. People do not care what faith you belong to and you do not want to nor hope to impose your faith on others. This is the islam that you want to have and hope to have.

However, you are not following the islam that Muhammed taught. This islam, Salafi islam is prevalent mainly in the middle east and taught throughout all major islamic schools. This is a version of islam that mandates islamic rule over the nation, an islam that preaches that islam is superior over all other institutions, an islam that mandates warfare against unbelievers or their subjugation into 2nd class citizens under islamic rule.

I am sorry for my clone above. I am the real terry g and I am a Muslim (please check our profiles).

To answer your question... I think there are both types of people out there- those who oppose Islam and those who hate all Muslims and Islam. It's unfortunate that so many people only see the bad side of Islam, which is actually NOT Islam at all, but Muslims following cultural practices instead of religious ones. Many times the media is so successful in their propaganda that people don't even realize that there is in fact a difference.

My experience has been that the majority of Americans know little to nothing about true Islam and they all repeat the rumors and falsehoods perpetuated by terrorists claiming to be real Muslims and the one-sided portrayal of Muslims in the media. They are against both because they have only heard the lies about both. I am an American too and the only Muslim in Chrisitan family and a U.S. Army veteran so I have seen discrimination and opinions from a wide range of sources. Recently, I have written a research paper on the most widely spread lies about Islam and my sources included a U.S. Senate subcommittee hearing, publications from Oxford University and a number of Islamic scholars.

Hate is such a muslim concept. People who oppose islam don't hate muslims. We oppose the slavery of mulsims to their religion, and the way they get insulted at anything and use it as an excuse to kill anyone at random. By the way, if you do not know Arabic, how can you possibly understand the koran. You are no better than christians, who do not understand their own bible.

There are some things in life that are worth hating, people are not among them. However, the lies that keep people from Christ and the transforming power of His ultimate sacrifice on the cross of Calvary is at the top of the list.

Islam is based on global domination and slaughter of any who won't convert or be enslaved, and has been acting towards that goal for centuries. If somebody says they are a Muslim, then they are stating their support ( at some level ) in genocide and murder.

How should we feel about that kind of person?

"Those who believe fight in the Cause of Allah."
Qur'an:4:76

"Fight them until all opposition ends and all submit to Allah."
Qur'an:8:39

"Fight those who do not believe until they all surrender, paying the protective tax in submission."
Qur'an:9:29

"He said, ‘Fight them so that there is no more rebellion, and religion, all of it, is for Allah only. Allah must have no rivals.'"
Ishaq:324

"Those present at the oath of Aqabah had sworn an allegiance to Muhammad. It was a pledge of war against all men. "
Tabari VI:138

Do you support this.. or do you pick and choose which part of the religion you follow?
