Why are so many people frightened to question authority like governement or religion?

A hostile response is ensured as you will see from the answers that if you question the government. For example if you say the evidence points that 911 was an inside job people freak out. Watch.

If you say the evidence points to there is no God and a guy named Jesus is probably just some guy. no savior.

Why do people need blind trust in their government and a insist their is a "higher power" with no evidence whatso ever.

Basically my question is why do so many people insist on being so dumb and then on top of it insist they are right. With no evidence.

And finally you probably don't have the answer to this. But, why am I so smart?

You are not so smart when it comes to God. However, 911 was a definite inside job and so obvious. People are dumb not to know that if you look at all the evidence.. George Bush is so crooked it is ridiculous. That was a demolition job. I also"heard' that they hired a friend of theirs to be head of their security on the towers who wanted that job for years and two days prior to 911 he was found dead. i watched the video in depth that was a short time on the internet one morning around 1:00 or 2:00a.m. (wonder why so early) and saw a lot of evidence. The engines found outside the penthouse were actually BMW engines. The hole was too perfect and (Rumsfeld sp) just happened to have his office way back of the end of he Pentagon. The man that showed up to fly the plane they knew he never had taken a plane that large up before and observed him in a small air craft barley being able to land it.

The scene where the supposedly the plane in route and all the people called from their cell phones. How come we never heard any of the conversations about that from the families talking about it and what they had said and no footage of the area? All was extremely brief. And at that height talking that clear? And being held against your will that many people called and used their cell phones?
There were no bodies found or mentioned. There was no major hole either where supposedly where the plane crashed, nor footage very detailed or mentioning of funerals or finding the black box or finding bodies of loves ones..
Someone took the surveying cameras away from the hotel immediately when it was mentioned that the plane had hit some of the electric cable lines.

If you see pictures of the pentagon there were officers of the air force taking out caskets quickly.. The hole was too precise for a bomb to do a hole so perfect nor was it ever mentioned again.

Anyway it was so obvious it makes you sick and he is so arrogant and they had the nerve to impeach Clinton?
What President hasn't done something? Look at Kennedy. Give us a break, it just wasn't as public as now. Johnson did I believe a little share of his "hits" as well. Most of these politicians are not so innocent if people are watching the news now. Bush is just got power that is all and a brother in Florida or whoever with Clout. As far as to God.. Why is it that people believe in Rome and Dianosaurs(sp)?., the ice age , all this stuff , but they can't grasp Jesus?

Well I know he exist. I am sober and would not be without him. IF you watch people who are, those who believe in a "higher" power do not seem to have that peace about them.
Some have white knuckle sobriety. But those that truly believe in God, watch their demeanor, their way of peace.
I just know how I could not of done this without him. I am a nurse who shot drugs constantly. There have been times I have questioned the same things you have. But there was a time that I called my Mom and asked for $500 dollars and she said it is in the mail right now, and we both got real quiet.
And I said, you mean $500? And she exactly, you should get it by tomorrow. I said how did you know that, and she said because God put it in my heart that you were in trouble and I sent it. That was the only time it really was weird. There has been times I don't know how I am going to make it and sure enough somehow something happens and I'll make a little I was not expecting or something that helps me make it. My husband and I are in extreme debt right now and could hardly pay our rent and the other day I said maybe there isn't really a God it is all just a hoax, well guess what, we just happened to get some information from Social Security that all they needed was some info. before they made their decision. Who get ss in less than 60 days? We made our rent. God is there but there are times I believe that the lower you go then the higher you will come back up!!!!!!!!!!!Count on it...It happens.. Babies , animals and everything has it's own DNA explain that? We may have to sell our car, but you know its a material thing, life isn't. Its a daily gift from God. i could care less about religion, and as for the government well the government thinks that they have to right to keep secrets from everyone. the feel that what we don't know won't hurt us which in a way so many people really wants to know what is going on. and if someone makes one step to question the government they lock you up and throw away the key because they think we might try to over throw the government, and God or Jesus well he was a guy a human no supernatural powers or savour he was just some guy who probably saved a kid or warn someone that a house was falling down and just over the last couple of thousand of years people made him up to be what he is today. no scientific evidence that he ever even did exist.

most people are stupid sheep and are afraid to have to do the work of making their own decisions. By the way I disagree that 9/11 was an inside job. Do you realize how smart our president would have to be to pull something like that off? he would have to have been as smart as Osama Bin Laden, and we both know he isn't THAT bright. Jesus Christ was a pretty good dude,but the ideals of peace and treating everyone with respect don't have to come from a God to be a good idea. Any intelligent person can take a good idea and judge it on the merits of the idea, not whether it supposedly comes from a god.

You have to fight for the answers and in a fight the opposition will put its might to destroy you but there is always someone who comes triumphs after it.for example if Christianity is so powerful how are so many people who follow Islam which started after Christianity or for that matter any religion and the same with governments.Russia was a monolith and then struggle divided it nothing is permanent except change which may happen in ones lifetime any time.What ever happens is for the survival of self or the species and has nothing to go with the government or religion.

One of the reasons is that it is the practice of authority to instill those attitudes. It starts in the home. An authoritarian parent rules the child through fear. The parent is unquestionable.
Then comes school. Where they teach you to sit down and shut up first and then teach you to do as you are told.
Then comes work. Corporate life is all top down dictatorship.
Employees do not get a vote on the board.
It is all about authority. It is about control and command.
From childhood people are taught to obey.
To doubt is a sin.
To question is a crime.

In your endeavor to be intelligent you have overlooked a few facts. Opinions are like heads--everyone has at least one--according to your last statement you are blessed with two. Religion is FAITH based not Science based. Higher education recognizes Religion and offers PHD's, Masters, Ba's and Bs's. In various areas in Religion and Bible studies. I'm not talking about cheap degrees. Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Duke, and Wake Forest to name a few. FAITH is trusting God. Blind faith has nothing to do with Religion. Evidence. According to the Education system it is not a matter of no education and certainly not dumb to seek a higher degree of Education in Religion.
May I say one thing in conclusion "Why am I so smart" Your statement is a blind supposition with no evidence to back it.

You have shown an opinion. This in itself is neither neccessarily wrong or right and certainly it is not neccessarily smart. Other people here are doing the same too, and the same conditions apply.

If you believe people are being dumb and insist they are right without evidence, where is your evidence that they do this?

As for the "inside job of 9/11", the only reason it bugs me is because I'm tired of hearing it.

lol, believe me, I don't have blind trust in my gvt. They just don't really do anything to damage my country, like the US gvt does to the US citizens, so I don't particularly care what they do as long as they don't make another country so angry that the other country attacks us or do something stupid like anything thats prejudice against others.

For example.... the Canadian gvt recently made gay marriage legal. They did so without consulting the Canadian people before they did it. After they did it, the Prime Minister simply said "Because its the right thing to do". They recognized that the need presented itself and there was no reason, other than a religious protest, to deny them that right.

Religion has NEVER ruled law in my country and never will. The gvt is expected to uphold freedom, freedom of choice, freedom of being, freedom to protection from those who would hurt others, but all freedoms.

The only people that protested the legal trust of gay marriage was the religious and they are getting absolutely nowhere in the protests.

Because the gvt here knows that they need to do whats right for all the people in the country, not just whats right for the few.

We have no fear of questioning our gvt at all.

But the Americans now... the Americans I don't understand. I don't get why this country, that is supposed to uphold freedom of all, that lived and died for its freedom, would ever EVER capitulate to the religious insanity. A people so passionate and strong should never allow the religious to control everything.

So... why am I so vocal on American politics? Simple.... I'm living in Canada now, but just finished the final paperwork (and sent it in) to move to the United States to be with my American born husband who lives in New Orleans. All his family and friends are Americans, as are many of mine. So, what happens in your country happens to me personally.

Why will we be moving to the US instead of Canada? Because I can't find a good job here that pays more than $13 an hour and thats after trying for two years. Because he just got a raise to $48 000 a year at his job, and because I have a guaranteed job offer whenever the paperwork finally does go through. Yeah, we're greedy, but I'd rather live a comfortable life than one continuing to live with my grandmother because I can't afford to take care of myself. He won't be able to get a job paying much more than what I'm making now here.

I find the strength of the religious in your country to be extremely disturbing. So much so that I've actually talked to my husband about what will happen if we ever have kids. I don't want them exposed to the kind of hatred the religious support in the US.

I'll be honest and say that its time to take back your politics, and your gvt, from the religious nuts. Those religious nuts will only get everyone killed. The rest of the world is only getting angrier with the US, and sooner or later, they will have had enough. Right now, you're only facing the middle east, what happens when everyone else joins them in protest? The US is the modern day Rome, and you remember what happened to it... they became so corrupt and greedy that they started to fall apart from within and their enemies took advantage of it to destroy them from without.

I well and truly love the US. Its as much my home as Canada is even though I wasn't born there. When something happens there, it tears me up. I don't want to see it. its happening because the religious have far too much power.

People in America seem to have forgotten that it is necessary to have a healthy distrust of government, that's what keeps government in check. People should be questioning the governments every decision, not blindly believing everything they are told and starting wars and throwing away their constitutional rights because of fear and insecurity. Americans have become cowards. For the other parts of your question IDK and you probably aren't that smart, smart people don't say things like that.
