i have windows xp and i tried reinstalling it and it doesnt work.i have no plugins or extensions on my firefox and i have the latest version.firefox 2.0.0.3 i have no idea whats wrong.it'll go to a site and before the page finishes loading,it'll lock up and freeze my computer.can somebody please help me with this problem

1st of all get an good Antivirus Program (such as AVG,Norton, McAfee ect) & check for Viruses on your computer,
Then you can uninstall & delete all folders where firefox was installed (Generally C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox). And reinstall a fresh copy of firefox.
Get an registry cleaner which further correct your system registry & reduces this type of problems

It sounds like you might have a corrupted Firefox profile. Firefox maintains user's preferences and other important settings in a file called the "Firefox Profile." Even if you reinstall Firefox, the Profile remains unchanged, which is why I think the problem lies with the Profile. In Windows XP, go to Start Mene > Run > type "firefox.exe -p" (without the quotation signs) > in the new dialog box, click [New] (or [Add] or [Create] sorry I forgot the exact phrase) > click [Enter] > type in a name (e.g. Second profile) > accept the default file location > [Start]. See if this solves the problem.

uninstall firefox, delete any of the remaining files the uninstaller leaves behind and then reinstall it

uninstall the version of firefox you are using and reinstall it.
