Dont get a dog. Get a pig. A small pig is clean, highly intelligent, and a lovable companion. They can be house broken in under two hours and can learn tricks in just days. Make sure you get a small pig though and not one that will be a giant.

If you are looking for the smartest breed of dog that would be the border collie and they are also quite cute. Ifyou want a really dumb animal try an Afgan they are quite cute with very long fur and dumb as posts.

It pretty much depends on what type you like but in my opinion I believe boxers are just the cutest(and coolest) dogs ever
Trained German Shepherds may be smart but I can't really say the same for my shepherd mix, she's dumb as a rock xD

Poodles and Cocker Spaniels invoke images
in my mind of size 2 women walking through Manhattan
wearing hats and pumps and fluff.
Get you a mutt.

Cutest.....thats a matter of opinion
Smartest - I've heard Collie's are smart. I have a Lab/Aussie Shepard cross and he's very smart. I'd say he's smarter than most people on this site.

A yorkshire terrier, they are easy to train and cute. If you want a bigger dog, get an American Stratforshire Terrier (American Pitt Bull, the ones with sqaure muzzles). Little Harder to train but very cute.

A Chihuahua is cutest !!! A Chow is the smartest !!!! We have a Chow and I wouldn't take a billion dollars for her !!!! And she is smart !!! She was born already housebroken !!!!!
