People hate the bible so much yet it is the top best seller in the world, yet so many people hate it.

Because it tells people that there is only one way to live and that they have to live by the bible or they will burn in hell.

Seems reasonable enough that so many people would dislike it to me.

Actually, it's not the best seller in the world.

You can only call it the best seller if all the variations on it are considered one Bible, and no Christians think that.

If variations=one book, then all the children's books ever written are one book and Harry Potter+Dr. Seuss+Coloringbooks+textbooks for kids+other kids books outsell the Bible by a long shot.

By the way, I've never met anyone who hates the Bible.

Yes, it's the top seller in the world because of clever marketing campaigns. The bible was sold as a product not as a holy book. There is a research from Yale University showing how it was done in America, like when they changed the name from "The Bible" to "The Book" and put attractive pictures of biblical females on the front pages. The bible is a fraud.

People want to embrace chaos right now, much like they did in the late 1960s, and the 1980s. HOWEVER, I have no doubt that it will backfire. People respond to fear with security so fast it can make your head spin. The Bible or religion in general is about creating order out of chaos.

I'd hate Harry Potter if there were covens and Hogwarts all over the damn place and the little idiots kept trying to convert everyone and influence national politics.

I've read the Bible more than most, and I'll read it again, but I understand that it is FICTION.

Because it was written by man yet people insist that it's god's word.

I don't hate the bible though. I don't hate anything. I might not believe in the bible, I might not believe in christianity but I would never hate either.

Just a correction, it is not the "top seller" because the numbers are skewed by christians. They count the bibles that are handed out free (which accounts for nearly 65% of the bibles that are printed) as "sold" so as to make the numbers look better.
It's just another example of pious fraud.
There are more copies of Harry Potter that have been bought and paid for than the bible. Try that statistic on for size.

I've really never heard anyone say they hate the Bible. I've heard people say they don't believe it, but never HATE it. Hate is a strong emotion. If they hate it, they must believe it's the truth, but don't like the message.

The Bible has been misused by some, worshipped by others, added to, interpreted, altered, had things that were left out of it and is a point of contention between fundamentalist (inerrancy) and moderate and liberal Christians (inspired by God, but written and compiled by man). Non-believers refuse to accept it as proof of God (I do also as a Christian), but then use it to hammer at Christians to explain scripture, usually taken out of context of without knowing the place of the scripture in time and space.

Regardless, everyone should read it.

I hate what people do, and then justify having done so because of what they interpret the Bible as having said.

Bible hates everyone excluding christians. So we hate it back!

You're contradicting yourself there, first you claim that bible is hated "so much" and then you claim it to be the best seller and favorite book in the world.
