The end = La fin
La = the
End = fin
and to say at the end you say " à la fin"
But "fini& finis" are some forms of the verb "se finir"
It's not the noun .so adémo's answer is also right.
Hope it helps.

In France, we say "la fin", but we don't use a lot this word.
But we use this word is in a lot of expressions:
C'est la fin.
La fin des haricots.
La fin du monde.
La fin des fins.
J'irai jusqu'à la fin.
C'est bientôt la fin.

But, when you write a story, don't write "the end", and it's the same if you make a movie.
