No it’s not a cyber crime under chapter XI of the Information Technology Act, 2000 in India. Such asking or answering of any question in yahoo even if the facts are wrong can not be covered in any of the offences mentioned in chapter XI of the said Act, it is neither tampering with computer source document nor hacking with computer system nor publishing of information which is obscene in electronic form nor any other offences mentioned there. As far liability of cheating others is concerned there is no delivery of any property nor there any damage or harm to the person's body, mind or reputation who reads the question & reply it. Only thing which I will advice to all professionals if they reply any question concerning their profession, they should not misguide or give wrong information to any one that is very immoral on their part & against the professional ethics.

no no its not a cyber crime. well i think to solve any difficult situation of life if anyone make false story just to solve that problem and if he/she is not hurting anyone, we can't call it a cyber crime well i'll say its a best way to solve ur problem by the various views of the people and by their best solutions. in my point of view its not a cyber crime.

The common reply seems to be 'NO' and 'NO'.
Thank you one and all. The question source was starting to freak me out. Its not easy being your research lab' primate set by graduate students to enter Internet from a stainless steel cage just for a steady diet of tropical fruits and coke.
All those early years of learning english and social customs,
food fights with undergrad's, with all too few intellectual rewards. The good news is I've grown to like throwing poo.

Not a crime. The only time it is a crime to lie is when you are under oath, Perjury. Don't forget, we have the Constitutional Right to Freedom of Speech, even lies!!!

It cannot be considered as crime, you have to believe or not believe the answer or reply, it is your responsibility, if there is abuse, tell Yahoo, they will block that person
