I am not sure whether what i am saying is relevant or not but about certain yogic exercises where the two hands are joined, the yogic experts explain that the right hand is supposed to be positive energy and the left hand is supposed to be negative energy and thus the clasping of hands means the conjoining of both the types of energies. So may be praying like that is to tell God that i bow before you with all my energy or i bow before you in totality.

You don't have to join hands, because the bible says where 2 or 3 are gathered together in the midst there I am.God is there when you pray. You must first know Jesus Christ.Joining hands is a communing together with other Christians in your fellowship to pray to the Lord as a body of believers and is just fine if thats what they want to do.

joining of hands was a double entendre-not only showing a unification in supplication, but also to ensure that people did not have their hands free to loot or even attack someone else during prayer.....
